Describe a time you used a map.
You should say:
When it was
Where you were
Why you used a map
And explain how you felt about using it.
Introduction
To be honest, I have zero sense of direction. I often get confused even in my own city. But thankfully, we have technology to save us. Today, I want to talk about a time when Google Maps literally saved me from a disaster.
Sample Answer
This incident happened a few months ago when I had to go for my CTET exam. The center was in Ludhiana, a city I rarely visit.
The Panic Moment
I had the address on my admit card—it was a school near Bharat Nagar Chowk. I thought, "How hard can it be to find?" But I was wrong. When I got off the bus, I was shocked to see the traffic. Ludhiana is super busy, and there were flyovers and turns everywhere. I asked a rickshaw driver, but he pointed in one direction, and a shopkeeper pointed in another. I was totally lost.
How the Map Saved Me
I realized I was wasting time, so I quickly pulled out my phone. My friend, who had already reached the center, sent me her "Live Location" on WhatsApp. That was a game-changer.
Instead of asking people, I just followed the blue dotted line on the map. It showed me a shortcut through a narrow street that avoided all the main road traffic.
Conclusion & Feeling
Believe it or not, I reached the school gate just 10 minutes before the entry closed. My heart was pounding! I took a deep breath and thanked God (and the map). If I didn’t have my phone that day, I am 100% sure I would have missed my exam. It just shows how much we depend on these tools, but in moments like these, they are truly a lifesaver.
